Because these kids shouldn't have to breathe 12,000 pounds of soot on game day, to provide electricity to houses in other communities.

  1. Here from SouleMama. I always try and pay a visit to a few other guests at link parties!

My little league days are ahead of me, I'm sure. Right now, It's just dance class for my 3-year-old.

Also, where are writing from? (you say a coal plant was proposed 8 miles from your house) Must be mid-atlantic-ish? We're in Virginia. I was appalled when we moved here to see the propaganda for "clean coal." No coal is clean coal; it's just impossible because of the nature of the chemical reaction.

  2. Hi Em, thanks for visiting! Yep, Virginia. : ) There's a short video on the upper right corner of my blog that will give you a good idea of where this is all happening. Regards!

  3. So has the plant opened already? That's scary. (From Soulemama, too.)

  4. I must say that I love your passion and that you are proudly doing a "twist" on {this moment}. Its a great way to get the word out, a creative way.

We recently had a scare here with our water and a possible connection to brain tumors. Maybe you heard about it on the news? "The Acreage" in Palm Beach County, FL? They said the water is fine, but I am skeptical still. We live very close to the acreage and our CSA farm is close by too. :(

Anyhow, It was hard for me to choose a moment this week, but since this made me laugh at myself & how far I've come with ocd, I chose "Cheerios and Toes".

I really hope you will take a "moment" to come by! :)

  5. Thanks, mamas!

Julie, not built yet! Not even fully permitted. Trying to stop it before it ever gets to that point.

Sofia's Ideas, I have heard of that, and it is sooo scary that we have to deal with these issues! What's the point of checking our kids' toys for lead when it could be all in the air? Or buying organic when the ground it grows in is contaminated? We have to keep fighting for us all! (Will pop by and check out your moment!)
